The condensate pipe from our 5 month old condensing boiler feeds into the drain like the drainpipe from the gutters on the roof. Ps we are in the uk. Should we contact the plumber who fitted it to correct this. The ac installers are doing their work today and just informed me that they installed the condensate line through the gutter.

Condensate should only be discharged into an outside drain if there isnt a means discharging condensate internally eg teeing into a waste pipe from a sink or washbasin due to the risk of freezing if terminated outside and also. Not aware of any reg that requires condensate to neutalized unless going into a soak away then it should have limestone chips in soakaway and be 500mm from foundations. I could easily extend the gutter round the corner slightly and run the condensate drain along the extension wall and into the gutter where it would be out of sight and maintenance cost free.
