The applications were inconsistent as there are areas that have a heavy dried on film others that are dried wood. When would you ever want it to not dry. We purchased a cedar sided home last oct found out the previous owner used a 50 50 mix of linseed oil turpentine on the siding. Linseed oil extracted from flax seed is one of the most useful natural oils.

Using your brush apply the linseed oil and turps to the wood. The raw one does not dry. Wood stains are toxic to inhale and can harm your skin so wear a respirator mask and gloves and apply stain an area with proper ventilation. A 50 50 mixture mix of boiled linseed oil and paint thinner will restore the vibrancy of the plastic as well as add a layer of protection.
